Art manifests itself in the physical world through a watercolor painting. We can observe its forms, its colors, the technique used to create it, and what it represents to us.
But… where was it before it became a painting?
There is a space the artist enters upon reaching a deep state of connection. It is then that a bridge is formed between the visible and the invisible, between that which has not yet taken shape and that which may eventually materialize in a watercolor painting.
It is in this sense that I understand art to unite heaven and earth.
The connection opens a channel between two planes.
For that which belongs to an invisible plane to take on a visible form, a connection must exist.
When the artist stops directing the process from the mind and begins to listen, they establish that bridge. They enter into connection and align with a harmony and beauty that already exist in the unmanifest.
In this way, the creative act becomes a meeting point between two planes: that which we cannot yet perceive through our senses, and the plane of matter.
And between them both, the artist.
The artist listens and translates.
In that state of connection, their role changes because it is no longer simply a matter of deciding what they want to paint and using the necessary technique to achieve it. They become a channel for listening.
The work gradually reveals the path. The artist translates what they perceive into something visible through technique. They allow forms to emerge and the message to find its own way of expressing itself.
The invisible order takes on a visible form.
What, then, happens to what the artist receives? It materializes.
Something that had no physical existence begins to take shape in matter.
An idea, an image, a frequency, information we could not see finds a medium, dimensions, colors, and a structure.
For me, that transition is the most important part of the creative process: the moment when something beyond form begins to exist in physical form.
The painting is the message of art made tangible.
This entire process ultimately leads to the artwork. The painting is the artist’s message made tangible; that which existed on another plane has found a way to express itself through forms, colors, and symbols.
The painting is the result of that encounter between two planes. What we could not perceive before becomes visible through the artist and becomes part of our reality. This is how art unites heaven and earth.
